[Central Daily Reporter Kim Mi-jung] Chemitop Co., Ltd., a semiconductor chemical detergent manufacturer located in Sansu Industrial Complex, Deoksan-myeon, Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, obtained family-friendly certification from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family this month. A family-friendly workplace culture was created while supporting and considering work-family balance, and the virtuous cycle of family-friendly management is being realized to increase the productivity of companies due to the low turnover rate of employees. Chemitop Co., Ltd. is the "top" in the semiconductor detergent industry and the "top" in family-friendly management. We covered Chemitop Co., Ltd., which is participating in the "Workplace Culture Creation Project - Happy Enterprise Project" of the Chungbuk Women's New Work Support Headquarters.
#New Designation of Family-Friendly Certification
Chemi Top Co., Ltd., which received family-friendly certification this month, is creating a "work-family balance" workplace through regular work hours, flexible work systems, and a key-friendly workplace culture with support from the family-friendly certification consulting center of the Chungbuk Saeil Headquarters. President Lee Chan-gu's management thoughts are "Gahwasaengseong" and "Let's take a proper rest when we rest." Chemi Top Co., Ltd. has not worked overtime since its inception. There are no overtime work or special work on holidays. The plan is to focus on working only eight hours, which is the working hours, and then take a free break. There is also an atmosphere in which people leave work on time without paying attention to their annual leave.
"Employees can laugh when they're comfortable at home. We're helping more employees enjoy work-family balance." (CEO Lee Chan-gu)
Commuting hours are divided into two types. Considering the environment such as childcare, production workers (25) go to work at 8:30 a.m. and leave work at 5:30 p.m., while management workers (20) go to work at 9 a.m. and leave work at 6 p.m.
"After leaving work at 6 p.m., we work out and enjoy our personal life. I'm the last to leave work at 6:30 p.m. It's not a work order structure, but an atmosphere in which employees work on their own." (Kim Kyung-yong, manager of management department)
As of September 2018, there were 2,800 family-friendly certificates nationwide and 188 in Chungbuk to mark the 10th anniversary of their implementation.

#A caring company, a rewarding employee
All production employees aged 50 or older are called 'chief executives' regardless of the number of years they joined. About 10 people have the title of 'chief executives'.
"It takes time to get a position, but we give the title of 'chief' to all older employees and sell them business cards. I wanted to instill in my family that my father and mother are respected in the company." (Lee Chan-gu)
Nine out of all 50 employees are women. Two of them are working mothers, and two are aged 60 or older. Jeong Hye-jin, 37, who joined the company seven years ago, joined the company when she had one child, quit her job, and is now a working mother whose second child is six years old. Jeong asks for understanding and leaves work early when her child is sick or suddenly has a situation at home. It was possible because of the company's consideration.
"Since the authority to approve early leave and annual leave lies with the team leaders, not the representatives, if it does not interfere with the work, the employees in a situation are considered as much as possible." (Kim Kyung-yong)
Welfare for long-term employees is also generous. Seok Jin-woo, deputy head of the quality control department who is in his 10th year at the company, is busy looking for travel destinations these days. This is because the 10th year of the company will be given three days of vacation and a gift certificate of 2 million won. The fifth year of the company will be given three days of vacation, a travel certificate of 1 million won, and the third year of the company will be given the opportunity to study abroad. Chemitop Co., Ltd. employees go on overseas training every three to four years. They will visit semiconductor exhibitions three times a year, including Shanghai, China in March, Taiwan in September, and Japan in December. This month, two female and two male employees will visit Tokyo for two nights and three days. They will provide expenses and even stay expenses.
For the 10th year in a row, the company has been fully providing vouchers for famous condominiums across the country. The condominiums are being changed from time to time, increasing employee utilization and satisfaction. It also strengthens employee harmony through company dinners every month. Despite being a small and medium-sized manufacturer, ample welfare benefits have lowered job turnover and increased satisfaction and affection for the company, leading to improved productivity.

#Closing the gap between generations 'effort'
One of the concerns of Chemitop Co., Ltd. is the generational conflict between young employees and employees in their 50s or older. In order to improve the culture of understanding and respecting the differences in thinking between generations, all employees went to Mungyeong Saejae-ro on November 2nd with the support of the Chungbuk Saeil Headquarters, and on the 29th of the same month, they had training in-house. While hiking Mungyeong Saejae Provincial Park, we had time to narrow the distance through group missions.
"We formed a team from different departments and carried out missions such as taking pictures together, but we developed a sense of cooperation and became closer as we walked along the trail together." (Lee Chan-gu)
In-house education, we have listened to lectures on corporate culture that considers and respects each other and practices them together.

#Produced Korea's only semiconductor detergent small packaging
Chemitop Co., Ltd. is the only company in Korea that produces semiconductor cleaning agents in small packages. It produces all 14 items. Its main customers are Samsung and LG.
"It's a small company, but we supply directly to Samsung Electronics. We produce the best products in our country." (Lee Chan-gu)
Founded in 2003, Chemitop Co., Ltd. completely moved to Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do in 2008. At that time, four employees came down from Seoul to Gwanghyewon-myeon, Jincheon, and the number of employees increased to 50 in 10 years. The factory site has also grown from 750 pyeong to 4,500 pyeong now, and in 2015, it expanded and moved to Deoksan Plant in Jincheon Sansu Industrial Complex, expanding and relocating the factory to an additional factory. The company continues to develop and needs more people as more work increases. CEO Lee Chan-gu wants a way to distribute work by hiring new people rather than making existing employees work more. This is possible because of the mindset that 'people' are important.
"We need to move to a structure where new people come and share their work. That way, we can improve the quality of our work. I want to work hard for eight hours and let them be free after work hours. One thing that gives us maximum autonomy is that I think our company is doing well." (Lee Chan-gu)
It is not an easy structure because it is a manufacturing industry, but it is a wish and a way forward, CEO Lee stressed.
